A protest Statement of Kurdish Journalist against the discriminatory policy of Iranian part of without border reporters.

Roji Kurd: A large part of Kurdish journalists issued a protest statement against the discriminatory policy of Iranian part of without border reporters organization.

This statement was arranged and issued by Hashem e Aliwaisi, Kurdish journalist, Poet and translator and signed by a large part of Kurdish journalists in Eastern Kurdistan. A copy of this statement was also sent to Kurdistan’s Human Right Organization. Based n the statement a large part of Kurdish journalists announced their complaint against the discriminatory policy of Iranian branch of without border reporters under the responsibility of a person called Reza Moeini.

According to the field information arrived to Kurdistnan’s Human Right Organization, Iranian branch of reporters without-borders boycotted Kurdish journalists and their demands and denies them any monitory and spiritual supports.

Content of the letter:

The organization of Reporters Without Borders was set up in Paris in 1985 to support the reporters and journalists whose life are in danger all over the world and it has been an active an efficient organization ever since. Since this organization has always aimed at accessing every kind of information sources regarding journalists throughout the world, it has opened many branches and offices under its supervision in different countries and employed specialists there to provide and present reports concerning journalist situations in their due countries. They should prove to the Organization that based on proper documents they have authentic and correct data about the atomsphere of conditions of informing and freedom of speech and the ways of trasnsfering information and news to the public domain. They also must provide support for the reporters and journalists whose lives are in danger in their due country and inform people and related organizations from the conditions under which the reports and human right activist live so that they can support them.

It is obvious that Iran is a country in which people live with various nationalities and ethnic groups. It is one of the countries which have repeatedly put pressure, censorship and threat over the journalists and reporters. This can be proven by viewing sites and centers for defending reporters and journalists. Therefore, this statement addresses all the liberal people, reporters and journalist and the authorities in the universal organization of  Reporters Without Borders. Iranian branch of reporters without borders organization is run under the responsibility of a person named Reza Moeini. He has surpassed his ethical, humanitarian and especially the organization’s legal duty with regard to Kurd’s journalists. He has not taken a responsible and appropriate position in relation with some Kurd’s reporters a\under the threat of Islamic republic. He has evaded his duties by ignoring the activities and the resumee of  these reporters and even has done actions in reverse. The writer, hashem Aliwasi, as one of such reporters has been active for eight years in Kurdish papers, journals and sites in Eastern Kurdistan and also in Europe with the following CV:

  1. Member of the council of Soran Weakly Magazine writers’ in eastern Kurdistan
  2. Member of writers council of Hangaw (Stride) in eastern Kurdistan
  3. Producing and arranging 14 TV programs under the title of “human rights situation in Kurdistan” in Rjhalat TV channel and doing several interviews and talks about issues related to reporters and journalists, and human right activists in Kurdistan and Iran.
  4. Official stuff of news section of Rojhalat Aso for two and a half year in South Kurdistan.
  5. Issuing articles and notes in well-known papers and journals such as Nese weekly, Raman and Sardam magazine.
  6. Permanant cooperation with Roji Kurd international news agency in France for two year so that it has issued and covered most of my activities.

For the above-mentioned reasons and under the guidance of my honorable friend, Jens-Uwe Thomas, I refered to that organization’s branch in Berlin as a Kurd reporter. He helped me to fill in the supportive form and carry out other requirements. I also attached the afore mentioned activities done in the middle-east and sent them to Iranian office of the organization which put my life and my fate and those of my family and my children in danger.

After two months they replied that I should introduce two well-known journalists to support me. Therefore, I introduced four prominent Kurd’s journalist instead. After three months they sent me an answer saying that they cannot give any support to me announcing that their colleagues do not recognize you as a journalist needing protection and they rejected my request. What assured me that Iranian branch of this organization has diverted from their duties regarding my case is that my four colleagues announced that the organization had not had any contacts or calls and they had not been notified concerning my case. Based on such reasons, l am certain that my CV and my journalistic background has been ignored on purpose.

Therefore, I apply to that organization to consider my case seriously again and to take position against those directly responsible especially Mr. Reza Moeini as I think their reaction towards my case was nonprofessional and nonhumanistic and against known articles and responsibilities of the organization. Therefore, following writers, journalists, reporters, and activists of various domains announced their complete support for my case in the organization. These people are those who have spent a large part of their career doing news reports and informing people by putting their lives and the lives of their families in danger in Kurdistan.
