Muhammad Nazari was not pardoned by the Iranian judiciary system

Iranian judiciary denied Muhammad Nazari Kurdish political prisoner’s request for pardon.

According to Mirovayeti  News agency Iranian state prosecutor’s office sent a letter to Mohammad Nazari, a political prisoner in Rajai Shahr prison. The prosecutor disapproved Mr. Nazari’s request for pardon.

This political prisoner while confirming this news told Mirovayeti  that on Tuesday Feb 23rd, the prosecutor’s office notified him that his application for seeking pardon was refused. This is due to lack of compelling grounds for his request to be pardoned. Muhammad Nazari also said that a few months ago he received a letter from Urmieh intelligent office, indicated that he was neither granted permission for release nor transferring to the central prison in Urmieh.

Muhammad Nazari, a Kurdish political prisoner from Shahindezh was arrested in June 1994 by intelligent office in Boukan. Since then He has been denied the right of any annual leave.

He is well known Kurdish political prisoner, who had previously been sentenced to death by the Judge Jalil-zadeh in Urmieh revolutionary court. He was accused of supporting and working with Kurdish political party in Iran. Later on in 1999 his sentenced was reduced to life imprisonment. Since then he has been in jail between central prison in Urmieh and Rajai Shahr.

This Kurdish political activist sewed his lips to protest against his detention for two decades in September 2015. He also went on hunger strike for 40 days.
