A Kurdish political activist was transferred to solitary confinement

Krman prison guards and personnel’s have intensified their pressure on a Kurdish political activist.

Mirovayeti, reports that on Wednesday, Feb 4 Sohaila Minaye, daughter of Sharif was transferred to solitary confinement in the Krman central prison.

This Kurdish activist had in the last couple of days requested permission from the prison staff to visit the library to pick up some books.

According to a source wishing to remain nameless due to fears of persecution told Mirovayeti that Ms. Minaye was accused of ‘disrespecting the Iranian leadership by the prison staff’.

The source further states that the prison staff and security personals have increased their assaults, and pressure on Sohaila. She is striped from all of her rights, the source also states.

Sohaila, is a 27-year-old Kurdish activist currently held at the Krman’s central prison for the next three years. Ms. Minaye will spend the next seven days in solitary confinement for demanding library visitations.

Sohaila Minaye was detained by the Iranian security forces on July 2015 In Diwandara and was later sentenced to three years and one month prison by the revolutionary court. Ms. Minaye is currently serving this sentence at the Krman’s central prison.

Reports indicate that there are at least 16 Kurdish women and girls held in Iranian prison on political and security charges and accusations.
