Two Blasts Hit Kurdish South-east Turkey

Two separate explosions occured in the Kurdish south-east Turkey which killed and wounded a number of people.

Three police officers have lost

 

their lives and three others were wounded by a roadside bomb in Sur district of the Kurdish province of Diyarbakir in south-east Turkey, according to the state-run Anadolu Agency.
Another blast rocked the southeastern province of Sirnak which has reportedly wounded 5 people. The Turkish authorities blamed the attacks on the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

Turkey’s southeast has witnessed renewed conflict between the state security forces and PKK guerrillas which has led to a huge number of casualties over the past two years.
